4 easy steps for Silk Screen process

1. Preparing the Design

For multi-colored designs, each color is separated into individual layers. Each layer will have its own screen for applying the specific ink color.

2. Creating the Screens

Silkscreens are made by placing a design on a light-sensitive, coated screen. The coating etches a photo-negative of the design onto the screen.

3. Etching the Images

Etching the images involves using a squeegee to push ink through the screen onto the target surface. This process is known as “pulling the ink.”

4. Dry & Repeat

Each ink will need to dry before we can apply an additional colour. We must also be careful to line up each colour to reduce the chances of colour overlap.
